A lithium polymer battery, or more correctly, lithium-ion polymer battery (abbreviated as LiPo, LIP, Li-poly, lithium-poly, and others), is a rechargeable battery of lithium-ion technology using a polymer electrolyte instead of a liquid electrolyte.

what is the C rating for?
The C rating dictates how much current the Li-Po can supply under max load. Here is how the math works.
Example: 1000mah Li-Po with 30C rating can provide up to 30 amps of current. A 1000mah Li-Po with 50C rating can provide 50 amps of current. A 5000mah Li-Po with a 10C rating could provide 50 amps of current.

LiPo batteries can also be discharged at higher rates, which means they can provide more power for applications that require it. The main disadvantage of LiPo batteries is that they can be dangerous if not used properly. LiPo batteries can catch fire if they are overheated or damaged
